LDP06 - Welsh Language

The Welsh language is part of the social fabric and culture of Wales.

This draft Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) document has been prepared to give guidance to applicants on how the Local Planning Authority (LPA) will assess the potential impacts of development on aspects of the Welsh language within communities. It states what supporting information will be required for certain developments across the LPA area.

This SPG has now been adopted as council policy with effect from November 2014. SPGs help to make sure certain policies and proposals are better understood and applied more effectively. They do not have the same status as policies in adopted development plans but we use them to help us make decisions on planning applications.
