LDP Inspector's Report

Local Development Plan Front Cover

On the 2nd September 2013, the Council received the Inspector's Report on the Conwy Local Development Plan (LDP). The Inspectors' report is binding on the Council.

The Inspector has concluded that, with the binding recommended changes outlined in his report incorporated into the LDP, the Plan satisfies the requirements of Section 64 (5) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and meets the tests of soundness set out in LDP Wales.

The Council must now adopt the Plan - this is required to take place within 8 weeks of the date of receipt of the Inspector's report.

When adopted, the Conwy Local Development Plan will become the Development Plan for Conwy (excluding the area covered by the Snowdonia National Park) and will provide a basis for decisions on land use planning in this area. It will supersede the Gwynedd Structure Plan (1993), Clwyd Structure Plan, Second Alteration (1999), Llandudno, Conwy District Plan (1982) and the Colwyn Borough Local Plan (1999).

If you require any clarification as to the content of the report and its conclusions (either specifically regarding a particular interest or in general) please contact the Strategic Planning Policy Team or Tel: 01492 575461.
